15/11/11 Out of Order
In pairs, with Adam Parton, we got given a brief that was simply to produce a photographic end result to ‘Out of Order’. After playing with a few ideas, we came to one which was about a modern day feudal system, and we decided we wanted to ‘own’ a piece of the ever ordered, ever clinical, Canary Wharf. A huge task for a week long project, but after emails to various important people, sourcing a sofa, extras and a nice couple of men with a van and a spare sunday afternoon, we got this image. There are so many different way’s in which we feel this image is ‘out of order’, and I think apart from slightly rushed post-processing, we are really happy with the outcome. It was a huge way from where we started, and I think we both enjoyed it, are pleased with it and have learnt a great deal through it.

‘Very proud of the two of you! Encouraged to let nothing prevent you from delivering a front room to canary wharf, you not only found a couch, van and lights, you engineered a really excellent shot and digitally enhanced it. An excellent result.’
‘An excellent concept and realisation. All the hard work, planning and preparation paid off’
